MEXICAN WEDDING DANCE (see LA BAMBA)

MICHAELA

If you thought that “La Bamba” was Travis Edmonson singing at his fastest, this live performance of the folk song “Michaela” will dazzle still further.

MOONBABIES AND SUNFLOWERS

For total infectiousness, there is almost no Travis Edmonson song which can match this one from his “Arizona Collection.”  If you can stay still or remain solemn during this one, you may have died without knowing it.

NO ME QUIERAS TANTO

Quite easily one of the most dramatic tracks recorded by Bud & Travis, “No Me Quieras Tanto” evokes as much romance as any of the captivating boleros which the country of Mexico has produced.

Literally, “ay amor ja no me quieres tanto,” says “oh my love, do not love me so much.”For Travis Edmonson, the words are especially beautiful, and he feels that a translation of the Spanish would surely reveal “the depth of sentimentality in Mexican music,” something he feels North Americans need to know.

However, even for non Spanish speakers, the duo's emotive rendition on “The Bud & Travis Latin Album” (now on CD) conveys so much density of feeling as to make a translation almost unnecessary.

NOCHE DE RONDA

This serenade of  a suitor pining away for his love was featured on “The Latin Album,” and a favorite of the ladies in the residences  of the University of Arizona when Travis Edmonson and Roger Smith sang to them from the shadows outside their dorms.
